In 2019 I had the “aha” moment, to create a game to focus on careers and wealth building for black and brown families – from that moment “LEGACY!” was born.
LEGACY!, an interactive card game that teaches Black, Brown youth and our families how to:
- Build lifelong career and financial management skills
- See career paths’ different outcomes and opportunities
- Know what wealth truly is—and isn’t
- Overcome underrepresentation in wealth
- Have FUN while learning
In just 3 hours after my Kickstarter launched, we reached our first goal for the LEGACY Card Game and, just 2 hours later, we blew past our second goal!
Yes, it’s super exciting to turn an idea into a dope card game for black families and black and brown youths, knowing I didn’t do it alone. It took over 127 people to come together and back The LEGACY Card Game project, to bring it to life.
As of December 2019 37% of crowdfunding projects reach their goals and its even more dismal for black led crowdfunding projects. So, for the LEGACY Card Game to reach its goal and raise over 1200% of its goal is super DOPE.

It is my purpose to close the racial wealth gap and have fun doing it—that is why LEGACY Card Game was born. I am on a purpose driven mission to create a world where black and brown families can create generational wealth, one card game at a time.
To reach my purpose I needed a minimum of $507 to make the game a reality, in other words a MVP (minimum viable product) and instead we raised over $6200. Instead of a MVP I am making a DVP (dope viable product).
